Papers, 1862-1864.

The collection consists of one letter written from Fort Delaware, July 17, 1862, by Joseph King to his brother David, and four letters written in 1864 by David King to his wife Mary. These four letters contain instructions concerning legal and business matters and home management, as well as brief references to troop concentrations, fighting, furloughs, and foraging. From the contents of the letters, it is apparent that he wrote many more letters to his wife than appear in this collection.
